How to Take Your Medication

Cannabis Flower (for Vaporising)

  • Grind your flower and place it into the medical vaporiser.

  • Start at a temperature of about 180°C. If you see cloudy smoke, lower the temperature. Never go above 210°C.

  • Dose: Take one small inhalation, then wait at least 5 minutes before considering another.

  • Flower must only be used in a vaporiser. Never smoke or dab medical cannabis.

Cannabis Vapes (Cartridges or Pods)

  • Insert the cartridge or pod into your approved medical vaporiser device.

  • Dose: Start with one short puff (about 2 seconds). Wait at least 5 minutes before repeating.

  • Increase slowly and only as directed by your doctor.

  • Do not modify cartridges, mix with other substances, or refill unless told to do so by your prescriber.

Cannabis Pastilles

  • Pastilles are designed to dissolve slowly in your mouth for absorption.

  • How to take: Place one pastille in your mouth and let it dissolve fully (do not chew or swallow whole if possible).

  • Effects can take 30–90 minutes to appear and may last several hours.

  • Food tip: Taking pastilles after a light meal that includes some fat (like yoghurt, avocado, or nuts) may improve absorption.

  • Key point: Always use the exact dose prescribed. Do not take extra pastilles unless instructed by your doctor.

Cannabis Oils

  • Administration: Place the oil under your tongue using the 1ml syringe provided (marked in 0.1ml increments). Hold for ~1 minute before swallowing.

  • Absorption: Effects from swallowed oil may take longer to notice but may last longer.

  • Tip: If swallowing directly, take with a fatty food (e.g., a spoon of mayonnaise) for better absorption.

  • Key Point: Be consistent in how you take your oil.
