Sometimes a deeply distressing event leaves lasting echoes - flashbacks, hyper-vigilance, or disturbed sleep. That’s Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Even without a formal diagnosis, trauma can keep the body’s “fight-or-flight” switch stuck in the on position.
Symptoms
Reliving events through intrusive memories or nightmares.
Feeling constantly on edge or easily startled.
Avoiding reminders of the trauma.
Feeling emotionally numb or detached.
If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, you may be suffering from arthritis. Please speak with your GP to find out more.
Treatment Options
First-line care is trauma-focused therapy such as EMDR or CBT. When insomnia, nightmares, or anxiety persist, CBPMs can provide extra support. CBD helps the brain process fear memories more calmly, while THC can reduce nightmare intensity and improve deep sleep. Together, they may foster emotional recovery and a sense of safety again.
